I would love to see multi-mob combat; I'd be much more inclined to purchase AoE gems as I can't justify them at the moment since I'm not a die-hard arena-er. I would also be more inclined to delve into DoT with outbreak and the like having a greater impact on gameplay.

If 3 normal mobs not inflicting any more damage than 1 normal mob is a concern, then turn on Heroic Legendary mode... that would sufficiently whup me. The challenge of these new modes would also encourage a lot more group combat at lower levels.

The reason why this would be really hard to implement from a programming standpoint is due to the selection of stock images. Many mobs/bosses are off-center and stacking 3 into a screen would be messy and unavoidable. Imagine sticking 3 water savior elementals - it could lag the game tremendously and from an illustrative/programming POV, it is just not very plausible to shift pixels out of the plane of the game window and add coding for the randomization of mobs, more gold, more loot.

This upgrade would make heroic mode obsolete you realize and that's still a fairly new implementation. Isn't heroic more epics and resourcing at the expense of EXP? I'd imagine legendary would have to do more EXP at the expense of loot or vice versa.

Either way, good idea, but very hard to implement.

I like the idea. Multiple players fighting multiple mobs while grouped seems to be a natural extension of arena combat. Maybe now that arena is working well the programming wouldn't be too problematic.

I support this, tho casters would take a HUGE advantage with this and they hit all gems and crit'ing for 2k+ dmg to them. But none the less, I support, multi enemy mode would be nice.

full support! it could be an awesome addition to the grind we all do, AND should be available to all levels, that way you could test yourself against originally easy mobs

Someone (I'm too lazy to go back to page 1 to see who) suggested the title of this mode could be confused with "Legendary Equipment," which has yet to be introduced.

Perhaps fighting against three mobs (solo or in groups) could be tied to obtaining legendary equipment when it is introduced, like heroic mode increases the probability of getting epic drops.

Just a thought.

In Legendary Mode you should have to fight both mobs from the zone and the boss at once.

the boss should still have the same random chance, as having to fight all different mobs including the boss would make it far too difficult, as you already group up for boss kills, and if you fought all 3 at once, you would be grouped with your friends and die all the time, cause thats practically killing the point of this. the point is to give lower level mobs a chance at being tough, and players drop bonuses, but if you make it so you are constantly loosing exceses of rrt/rt you would, in essence, completly defeat the meaning of doing this. be i thought a troll or not, i had to say this. huggles, overruled. :P

The idea of fighting three mobs simultaneously keeps coming up in civil chat.

This suggestion is one method of achieving that. Other methods are also feasible.

Been a long, long time since I've done any serious program, but just from what I see in the game, it would seem most of the code exists for this. Sure, things would have to be adapted and modified, but that's better than starting from nothing.

I do sometimes.

I'm looking for a change of pace from the daily boredom of doing the same thing over, and over, and over again. It doesn't matter whether it's a gray mob on Traveler's Way or a mob in the Pit, the game dynamics are identical.

Fighting three mobs at once would at least be something new and different. It would also make gems and skills that attack multiple enemies useful against mobs, instead of restricting their use to the arena or multi-player duels.
