Default 3 v 3 arena

this whole format is terribly flawed imo. activity is terrible. s2 queued all morning for no fights at all. s1 activity is a little better but still not like it should be. the stronger toons dont need to queue as they already have tempers.... its geared towards the strong get stronger. something needs to be done to correct it. activity only picks up in rush week.

Heh i was in Q in s1 whole morning, only had 1 team for hours and then nothing. But what to expect? Most are tierd after last arena they are taking a break. Nod is more quiet then usual imo aswell but this is normal after end of an arena season. S2 well, only way i can see is to either make s2 more different to attrack more people or make it able to meet other players from other servers but keep the toplist seperately.

Or change player time to USA time...

:{ queue is rather dead a lot. I'm guessing I'm the one team Neela mentioned from this morning. cuz I only got one team for an hour or two. And even prime time evenings (murica time) sometimes the queue is so dead. Me and tsur were only two in queue for an hour or so Saturday :{ he's too strong to wanna fight him every 10 minutes! This arena gives the least tokens overall generally (besides botters like locuras I think highest I've seen was ~20k).

On the other hand I question what he could do that would motivate people to queue more. 10% chance of double is already op. At least a few of the rushers are temping when they farm tho. Seen lot of Temps made out of people who will definitely get top 10 :{ (read Brooke, redeye, tsur, and etc). Lot of the weaker toons seem to be the ones not queueing. Even when I was offering to help low levels get a few wins only one has actually joined. And for weaker caps a lot of them are waiting for 3v3 anon arena because they can actively win to get rating and tokens via being carried.

I agree with everyone above . 3vs3 anonymous is best format as participation pays off for everyone and it's worth the time as everyone have a chance to get decent rating and tokens like Blaze mentioned.

What can be done ?

To attract weaker and developing toons tired of being whack every 10 min with rating going nowhere (its frustrating to keep loosing and only feed stronger teams ) a change to arena bonus could be made .

With x amount of time spent in Q bonus would become permanent for the rest of the day (you can still benefit from it even your mate is gone) and in addition provide 10% active exp for the rest of the day which will be beneficial for those developing their characters.

I'm pretty sure anything new will help - different is good.

This is my fav arena format tho cause its the ONLY thing now that demands grouping up. The only fun with the other 2 arena format is sadly to steal rating.. sad but true.. The problem for me is that once again team is during summer wich is the time i try to spend less on nod cause i want to enjoy the summer.. so i wont be able to participate as much as i want to still. I do support any idea to make queue more worth it, cause for some reason i dont feel that motivated either until closer to rush week.

Honestly, since the introduction of the solo que (1v1 and 3v3 anon) what real reason do people have to que? Que times are slow and you cant gain tokens or rating compared to the single que styles. The only real draw are for the competitive people who want to go for top 10/3/1. Due to pre made 3v3 being the "true" arena in peoples eyes this makes the top teams far ahead of the lower teams.

Because of this you end up with a handful of top teams ( 3-6 or so) who basically stomp all but those other few top teams. On top of that those teams will likely not form till rush is announced since that is plenty of time to go from 0 rating to the top team rating. This happens in the single ques as well but because the player base is spread out over more matchs it is not AS big of a concern.

So you have people who have been "spoiled" with the single que bonus (permanent bonus till reset after match's have been played) with a lack of incentive for 80% of the player base ( inability to gain tokens, rating to use tokens to increase tempers, and lack of worthwhile end of season rewards). Meanwhile the other 20% of the player base either has 0 inclination to arena in the first place or know that they will easily reach top 10 once rush is announced so dont bother to que (or only for bonus while farming) till that time.

To be clear, 3v3 is my favorite arena, the single ques are just a boring token grind to increase tempers imo. However, 3v3 DOES need to be brought up to date with the rewards that single que offers if there is ever to be any hope of the player base bothering to que through the season.

Honestly the argument could be made that the rewards (either end of season or token gains or bonus or tempers or what have you) should be SLIGHTLY better then single que since people have to either play all 3 toons (not the easiest thing to do at a high level) or coordinate with 1-2 other people and their schedules.

tl;dr
3v3 is great but it needs to be brought up to par with rewards of single que.

We all yearned for this format after two solo arenas. The problem with this format is the que time and lack of actual teams. This is expected, and the only way to fix is more incentives. The outcome is up to the players, but there is no motivation. Every season has the perks but I am neutral about everything.

There's a lack of people in Q. I recall s2 asking for a bot on each side in anonymous 3v3 so people could get more matches when few people are Qed. I don't necessarily support this but I do agree that something needs to be done about the shortage of participation.

Guys, Reddit is one of the largest internet communities. Put your referral links there. I've gotten hundreds of referal hits just from spreading your referral around when the topic comes to mmos. This could solve our shortage of fresh blood. Once people reach their peak, they get bored and eventually quit. More people are doing this these days than new players are coming in and end up reaching cap.
