Default Inferno

Is there a reason why red gems get the full effect, while blues only gain a little over half of it?
Are blue DDs so powerful they need to be indirectly nerfed as such?
Or was it simply forgotten among the huge list of changes to be done.

Disclaimer: I don't use blue DDs, I just find it rather weird that the weakest damage gems (along with greys, afaik) gain less damage from skills than the ones considered the best, and I want an explanation.

Second question: Does the damage boost apply after or before FlameCall?
- It would be more advantageous for it to apply after, as all the damage would be augmented.

blue DDs w/ high skills can fire as fast as you can click due to replay

flamecall is the first bonus applied to gems

Blue gems are NOT worth it due to the global cooldown

Having tested blue DDs, I can safely say this is viable at lower levels, and not so much higher up.
The damage from flamecall is minimal thanks to the damage cap.
The damage thanks to int is minimal thanks to low maximum damage.
The cast time is pretty fast, so skill levels don't matter much as far as cast speed goes.

This means that, at lower levels, machinegun casting is useful (the gems are cheap)
At higher levels (when skills become higher/costs steeper/int higher), it becomes obsolete.
