Default Massive Damage

Pets...

I got forced into a clan battle with Pedrowazup, number 1 boss killer solo.

Not unhappy about this or the fact that I lost. Want to make this perfectly clear.

His armored companions did 16,000+ damage to me in crits before I could hit attack. I don't know of a single character that can take a 16,000 hit. Even if they could, they would die almost instantly to the first bleed tick of an additional ~5,000 wound damage. Even if that didn't drop them, the next tick of ~5,000 damage would surely do them in.

I don't believe it was the intention to make these pets.... for lack of a better word, unbalanced and overpowered.

I have no suggestion for a way to balance the game better as I don't want the damage from everything else to increase to the point where the game is all about massive numbers rather than skills.

Any kind of suggestions are welcome as long as they are productive. I generally try to avoid nerfing anything but there's no way to compete.

I posted the damage they could do a long time ago, shouldn't have been a surprise.

Your calculation didn't take something into consideration cuz you're saying they could do a max of 8475. These things have hit me for over 9k damage more than once.

Consistent opening PvP kills are not very balanced - assuming it is consistent. Having a shield, full tempers, and eventually epic HP bonus should prevent that.

And what do casters do?

Ya that is a bit of a problem.

What is basically being said is that only the baddest of the baddest tanks have a chance to survive a single attack from someone dw armored companions. The rest just get instantly destroyed. Keep in mind this 16k damage is just from the pets. This doesn't include any damage from the whips themselves. And like I said, the crits come with 16k worth of bleeds over 10 seconds as well.

That would be the pet based lg gear. Included or not they gave an idea of what you would be up against. Being able to get 8x tempers without needing the rating + epic bonus casters should be able to break 30-35k hp 40k if it were possible to get affinity to 100 in a single life time XD.

The days of caster dominance is long gone...we had our time, as glitch said with lg weps release it's time for others. Eventually glitch will look at tops list solo kills and see how far ahead dual whips with legendary pets are ahead of everyone else and adjustments will be made. It only took casters being able to solo 2 lvls of boss more than others for a change to be brought in. Now dw whips are doing +12 lvls of boss I'm sure a change will come soon. (Though I do appreciate that worgen had as much do do with this as the pets).

The pet must have double attacked to get 16k damage on you. although it is very unlikely it is possible to have happen.
thingd you can do:
hope for a miss
pump dur
pump agi
testudo it up
parry the pet
block it
kite the pet

if any of those things happen and you manage to avoid the damage completely you *should* be able to punish a bm using only 1 pet fairly easily since it has at least a 45 second delay

Both of his armored companions crit me on opening. One pet didn't do 16k damage, they did 16k between the two.

I've been telling that BM's need to be nerfed since my second day of play xD

No, really. Most weapon bonuses apply to whips, whips themselves do massive damage and also pets.

nvm misread post.

anyway theres no way in hell no matter how strong the tank is they can really survive even the opening volleys with those pets when they can exceed a total of 64k damage

but yea ...somehow you survive the opening volley you get about 10-15 attacks in before he attacks or heals again unless you know he just swaps out those amazing openers for pair of yetis after the opener almost kills you and then just continues to slaughter you

Str bonus is there its on the max since it doesn't affect min. The yetis would also be delayed the 50 or so seconds for their first attack. Openeing volley is 9x4 = 36k + maybe 5k from weighted whips. Now if they get another set then yes 82k if extremely lucky. Still a kick ass combo. Unless you meant the very rare occasion both pets double attacked for that.

Switching pets after they attack still has them attack after the full delay. There is no real advantage to this.

Also, switching pets would remove the armored companion's mitigation bonus, which actually helps tank out the damage while you wait for the next shot.

Silly Boog. Glitch wants all casters to use Whip/Shield and Bow.

For slow effects, use the slow % but as a negative.

Just repeat for multiple effects.

DO NOT multiply by 1+slow% to get your new delay. 1*1.4 is not the same as 1/0.6 and your answer will be wrong.
