Default LG Suggestions

It is my opinion that there are too many boring LGs with procs that don't open up new build opportunities. To-hit bonuses on their own are bland (and should exist as a bonus on pretty much all LG weapons, thanks to the absurd bonuses already in place on some), and any double cast or gem-enhancing melee weapon is inevitably only used by bow users.

I'd like to put forth some ideas that would allow for new things besides kok BM, DCDoT, and DCDD to prosper, especially where teamwork is considered. The actual numbers on the procs are just rough estimates- the actual effect and idea behind it is more important.

Whip of Bloodletting (Whip)
Dmg: 40-137
Delay: 27
Increases the damage of all your melee, pet, and gem bleed effects by 10%. Also causes bloodets from the hemmorhage skill to deal additional equivalent bleed damage over 30 seconds.

Alternative: When striking your target with this weapon you have a chance to inflict a bleed over 15 seconds equal to 15% of the target's current pending bleed damage. Also causes bloodets from the hemmorhage skill to deal additional equivalent bleed damage over 30 seconds.

Staff of the Beast Tamer (Staff)
Damage: 37-183
Delay: 30
When striking an enemy with this weapon, your pets have a 10% chance to immediately attack.

Additional bonus option(s) if that's too weak:
-Also allows you to benefit from the Intimidate skill while using a staff at 1/3rd the normal chance.
-Bonus to pet hit chance, or crit chance.

Claw of Disarming (1H Slash)
Damage: 29-207
Delay: 30
When striking an enemy with this weapon, you have a chance to cause a 4 second 50% melee, ranged, pet, or gem draw slow aura. (30% chance to proc, 25% chance for each effect after that).

Doublestring Bow (Bow)
Damage: 18-298
Delay: 91
This oddly slow bow fires two arrows at once and has a slightly increased chance of trishots based on your Dexterity.

Shatterstrike Warhammer (1H Crush)
Damage: 21-205
Delay: 28
Critical strikes from this weapon have a chance to shatter a random gem your target has in play.

Whip of Mass Aggression (Whip)
Damage: 31-126
Delay: 24
When used this weapon casts a 27% pet haste aura on your group.

Vampire's Stake (2H Pierce)
Damage: 53-304
Delay: 38
Heals you for 3% of the damage you deal with all attacks and has a chance of preventing your target from benefiting from all health-stealing effects for 1 second after striking. (Possibly have it work for all healing effects).

Armguard Dagger (1H Pierce)
Damage: 50-140
Delay: 25
Armor Class: 40
This weapon provides a 5% chance to block as if using a shield.

Lifeblood Scimitar (1H Slash)
Damage: 43-243
Delay: 36
Any time you would heal from a vampiric effect, you instead heal for 60% the normal amount, and your allies are healed for 30% each. Also provides a 3% chance to hit with all attacks. (Perhaps limit the effect to vampiric effects caused by the weapon itself, rather than all weapons).

Staff of Arcane Might (Staff)
Damage: 40-190
Delay: 29
When equipped this staff causes your Deathflow skill to also increase your damage by your strength. Your strength does not count against the normal double damage limit for Deathflow. Also gives a 7% extra chance to hit with melee attacks.

Just repeat for multiple effects.

DO NOT multiply by 1+slow% to get your new delay. 1*1.4 is not the same as 1/0.6 and your answer will be wrong.

I like the ideas. Idk if the percents and numbers are op or not but more diverse and interesting proc's on items would be beneficial to nod imo.

it would be also better if these effects were to be applied to already existing underused gear

V - Spear of the Unstoppable Is an example of an under-preforming LG and Polearm of purity is another.

In addition to those changes, I would suggest some changes on weapons which are highly under-utilised (nobody or almost nobody uses these weapons). As with the new weapon suggestions, the numbers aren't as important as the basic idea of the procs.

Vampiric Dragon Whip
Damage: 33-136
Delay: 26
Armor Class: 30 (+5 per tier)
Heals you for 5% of the damage you deal with all attacks, plus an additional 2.5% of all damage dealt with this weapon. Also provides a 5% extra chance of successfully hitting with all attacks.

Increase uptier bonus from .5% to 1% on the all vamp, and make it .5% on the extra vamp.

Vampiric Dragon Whip
This weapon causes you to regain health equal to 6% of all attack damage you deal. Additionally, this weapon provides a 5% bonus to hit with all attacks and has a chance when striking to deal flashburn damage to your target equal to the amount of health healed from vampirism.

Increase the AC bonus to 30 at Tier 1, with +10 AC per tier.

While this has the potential to be potent with a very high melee vamp percentage deep into PvP damage bonus (and might need a double-dipping exemption), I think it's a reasonably small bonus to DPS that has good synergy with the Vampiric aspect of the whip and rewards stacking vamp from other sources.

Alternative: This weapon causes you to regain health equal to 6% of all attack damage you deal. This value is increased by 50% for melee damage, and by 50% again for whip damage. Also provides a 5% bonus to hit with all attacks.

__

Angel Hair Whip
Damage: 31-126
Delay: 24
Dex: 8 Agi: 8
This weapon gives a 5% extra chance of performing parries and avoiding parries with all attacks, and to successfully hit with all attacks. Also casts a 40 hitpoint damage absorption shield on you when you parry an attack.

Uptier 1% for parry/hit, 10 HP for shield.

__

Staff of Serpent Ice
Damage: 38-219
Delay: 35
This weapon has a chance of poisoning and burning its target for 300 damage each over 10 seconds and to cast a 10 second 7% Melee Energy or Melee Mana Thief Aura on the user. Also provides an additional 10% chance to hit with melee attacks.

Suggestion for the completely underused Aliangel Sleeves and Leggings:

Sleeve of the Aliangel
Provides an extra 4% bonus to all attack min damage and min pet heals. +.35% per tier

Legging of the Aliangel
Provides and extra 5.5% bonus to all attack min damage and min pet heals. +.5% per tier

Way too powerful as originally suggested.

I would like to see a 15% S&D proc on a quick high dps piercer.

Straight copy from my improvements to other whips thread:

The first buff was, of course, Blood For Blood, which gives 5% melee/ranged vamp for each whip you have equipped. Koks have less melee damage potential than other whips (though their ranged damage potential is more or less identical), so it's a tiny buff to whips.

However, we can see that pretty much everyone is still using Koks for BMs.

Going by my principle that buffs should be done by small increments to prevent stupid OP situations, here are a few suggestions for improving other whips:

1. Slice and Dice
Dicing can now be done with a whip, doubling min damage instead of max damage on 10% of whip attacks.

A small bonus to whip melee damage which would help see some other whips get more use (though with just this, it'd mostly be LoDs still).

2. Angel Hair Whip
Dex: 8 Agi: 8
This weapon gives a 5% extra chance of performing parries and avoiding parries with all attacks, and to successfully hit with all attacks. Also casts a 40 hitpoint damage absorption shield on you when you parry an attack.

This would at least allow this whip to see some use as a defensive whip. In its current form, it's useless.

Alternative: This weapon causes you to regain health equal to 6% of all attack damage you deal. This value is increased by 50% for melee damage, and by 50% again for whip damage. Also provides a 5% bonus to hit with all attacks.

This places more importance on melee damage, especially with the whip itself, as being important, while at the same time not opening the whip up to abuse from DCDD by simply having an insane base vamp percentage.

4. Vengeance
Allow Vengeance to affect whips at 1/4 the rate that it affects other weapons.

This would somewhat increase the importance of whip damage, especially with Bestial Sacrifice.

wtf, so you want the staff of ice to be nerfed? is basically what you're saying here. flipy doesn't have it @ t4 for no reason. i also don't have it because it's 'underwhelming'. it's underused as staves are generally disfavored.

This would be a DPS increase for the staff.

If you read closely it's a buff, and this was from before Serpent Ice was most recently buffed. That post is 8 months old.
