Default New Dust Collection Mini Game v2.108

I would like to bring back the discussion of 99 epics after this upgrade.

Dust market is clearly going to take a hit from this minigame, and I really like the way mid lvl epics will be more affordable.

However, it makes the 92+ drops that we get as tps even less valuable, since most of them are dusted due to the crafting cost making it inviable.

With this, I reopen the request that those equipments get dropped as items instead of tps

Thank you

Also, neither compass nor heroic gives the extra tier for dusts.

Is it working as intended?

The compass and heroic bonus still increase the average tier of dust collected, but it's not a guaranteed increase.

If you want us to look at the epic drops as non-consumables suggestion, please take two similar weapons, an epic and an LG, and break down their comparative crafting costs by item. It would be better to identify the underlying crafting cost issue with 99 epics before attempting a fix.

99 2h slasher
6 t30 ingots 800k each so 4.8m
105 t1 ingots-negligible cost
5 t30 leather- 1.2m each so 6m
105 t1 leather-negligible cost
2 t27 resins-195000 each so 390k
57 Geleatai blood resins-negligible cost
total cost to make a little over 10m for a 99 2h slasher

LG slasher Runed Flurry Greatsword
10 t30 ingots- 800k each 8m
8 t30 leathers 1.2m each 9.6m
12 t30 resins 825k each 9.9m
t1 leather t1 ingots and t21 resins of negligible cost comparatively
total craft cost 27.5m

these figures are assuming you have a consumable plan

price difference is quite high but saving up 10m for a 99 2h slasher is likely to take forever for someone using the next best slasher (75 2h or 85 2h) and a similiar problem occurs with all 2h weapons some 1h arent too bad but all are still quite costly to craft

Comparing whips

Even if the LG version costs 3 times, I'd rather have an LG and an uncommon whip rather than two 99's.

Not to mention the fact that LGs are final (on their category), while 99's will be replaced eventually and will have to be sold far below its crafting cost.

As the picture above shows, the biggest problem is the material cost, so an option could be requiring t29 mats instead of t30 for the 99 gear

Well, since the focus here is on the tp drop, let me try it another way:

Considering the picture from the previous post, the 99 tp would be worth 2m, but only when being used to craft the said gear, otherwise its just dust and is going to be worthless (having the minigame in mind)

If you reduce the material needed for the recipe, then its possible to consider actually crafting the item with that tp, since there would be some profit on selling it on prices that would be affordable for players that need the upgrade.

This would also weaken the idea of skipping the 99 and going straight to LG

Someone should figure out the price to craft a 99 two headed crusher. Because at the moment they are selling on auction house for an average of around 3 million. That should show how huge of a difference there is between the crafting price and the price you can expect to get on average one selling

It is possible to get an entire 88 set including weapons (89 crushers lets say), armor and archery gear for under 2 million gold.

An entire legendary suit from the store would cost between 20-25 million gold.

Crafting the 99 armor (an entire set) would cost around 7 million gold.

The issue is one of relative value.
It was fine to have the 99 epics as consumables only when they were the best items in the game. A lot of people crafted them back then.

Since the advent of legendary items, legendaries have become the most desirable and 99 epics have become an afterthought. Chances are that someone that can afford to spend 7 million gold on epic 99 armor can also afford to spend 20 million on legendary armor. Why would he or she waste his or her time going for sub-optimal gear when no one would be willing to recognize this accomplishment and would only look at the 99 items with derision (I believe that the kids use the term noob to signify said contempt).

Like I said, it is an issue of relative value. The folks that need and would benefit from epic 99 gear cannot afford it. The folks that can afford it, don't want it and won't waste their time crafting it because they can just save up for a legendary. Like ThatPerson shows above, you can make an epic 2 hander for about 10 million but why would you when you can just save up and get the legendary instead. That 10 million is a complete waste of gold and resources because nobody will buy that 2 hander for its crafting price when the user no longer needs it. I have not seen an epic 99 2 hander go for above 5 million in ages and these are the 2 handers that are still floating around from back when people actually cared to craft them or from prior arena prizes / drops.

88 gear is much better value for the money. The entire set can be had for under 2 million gold like I said (not just the armor but the entire set). It is a much better bridge to legendary items.

Solutions:

(1)
Make it so that 99's function as every other epic set does (at times they can drop as actual items and at times they can drop as consumables). It is an easy and simple fix.

(2)
Make it so that epic beasts occasionally drop 99 epics (actual epics).

Honestly, I like the first solution better.
Or a bit of both could be employed. Epics could drop a tc plus gold plus any epic item in the game (not only 99's; some of them could drop ducklings for example; some of them may just have tc and gold but no epic; some of them could drop a tc and gold and a consumable).

I even support the idea of very high lvl mobs (120 + for example) dropping legendary recipes (consumables only). The rate of these drops could be half or quarter the rate of epic drops (non heroic). Consumables would encourage usage of some of the less used legendaries and as the drop would be a consumable, it would still have to be crafted. Also it would encourage higher end farming.

These are just my thoughts (whatever they are worth). It makes little difference to me if anything is changed or not. I can afford legendaries and 99's. Just like to try to make suggestions that I think will improve the game.

i personally dont see how much of a change this skill will make to current ah prices regarding high tier dusts due to the fact that getting a t30 pull could take a while where as currently we know when were epic due and its pretty much a guaranteed drop of 3 - 7 t30 dusts.

with this skill we dont even know how often t30 will be pulled and also depends how many people actively search for t30 dusts instead of the current resources they are getting.

only time can tell how it affects the prices id say give it a few months before changes are made...

Havent given it a chance yet , but i think it has negative impact on epic item drops

makes it to easy to one man operation craft every epic in game if choose too ,
i havent looked into if are any other items that can be made cheap enough to say is valuable to just sell to store
it does bring to mind that now if i run 10 toons all doing diffenert resources i should be able to craft all tier resources into gear ,
Were before crafters were limited by number of dusts people could farm keeping the rest of resource prices at bay , think this will soon make rise in everything else,
Not to mention making most epic drops in the game less appealing since will be easy to come by besides cap drops wich are tp so dust if want to bother to try farm ur epic

Cheers for the new game but maybe could have added new resource and more content instead and better utilized the work further

99 epics should be considerably cheaper to craft now. The lower level epics won't be affected as much.
