Default V1.308

I can see the DoT skill, DoTs were OP.... this is a nice addition. But were DD'ers underpowered at some point??? why Raze??? Now, the non-shield weilding meleer's are once again, the little runt brother/sister of their OP caster siblings. If you're going to raise damage in arena, don't forget about doing it for ALLLL.

how is DD's being blocked (and deflected) less not a DD caster buff (more dmg....)??? im confused to what youre lul'ing about...

what i am saying is.... DoT's vs DD's... yes.. unbalanced... but just b/c u take some weight away from the DoT side of the scale... doesnt mean u have to add weight to the DD side....

Now... DDs are not balanced w/ melee/ranged weaponry as it was before...

He's probably luling at you pretending this has any impact on nonshield wearing melee. This was about DD vs Shield and DoT vs Shield. Stop making drama where there is none to be made.

am not the one to complain about a game change as long as I understand the reasoning behind it, whither from my experience or from others. so here is my problem: I cannot understand why DoT casters need to be nerfed against shield users? the can be blocked/resisted like all the others and reflected like DD casters, even more now, and rangers. and what a nerf it is. 1% chance per level to remove all the accumulated damage at least once a match. all the damage! thus, killing the DPS of DoTers. i really have no idea this nerf was needed. please share your opinions about why this was needed.

an argument I was thinking about was that DoTers can use Angelic Auras very effectively, mitigating 20% of the damage taken while having the same DPS. this is a valid argument unless the staff is actually being used for damage by sacrificing CNC and INT for STR. I do the later.

DoTs can't be blocked. DoTs will still rip shield users a new one even with this patch, but at least they'll be a little more trouble to kill.

i'm sorry but i agree with rogue this patch is beyond a joke casters need more help ??? wtf?? yet more proof how over balanced this game has become in favour of casters!!! as a 3 yr old toon as an archer/ranger i see little point in putting anymore time and effort into a game thats become the playground of a few classes only!!! very glad diablo 3 is coming out! there is no joy left in this game for my class well done jeff! and a shinning example raze is what a tier1 skill where as the shield is tier4 ??? costing 4 x as much to gain exp in ??
and on the subject of angelic gems they should have cost 50/50 mana/energy from the start like archery gems!

truely i give up!!! and couldn't care less if you flame this post! it's not even a whine it's sheer frustration at where this game is heading!

Oh look, is the guy that wants 100% blocking as an archer... k i wont flame your post but u always suggest things for ur class without fundaments.

Glitchless please would you give melees and archers some kind of buff? , that kind of people gets buff after buff and they always complain, if you buff others they quit.

actualy more like fix after fix rather than buff after buff to archery skills! look back at the posts for blinding arrow and exploit weakness they didnt work and took 6 months of us complaining for glitch to fix! we have only had 2 buffs to our skills and massive and brilliant as they are still only put us back on the map ! not leap frogged us above and beyond other classes!
and try reading the posts i didnt say 100% blocking i asked that a 50% nurf be removed so that guardian class would not be a non starter for archery!

san i did have a lot of respect for you but of course i'm going to stand up for my class the same as you have on yours with countless posts on here! as for the shield we still get the 22% slowdown for equiping it i think thats enough of a nurf ! 50% less chance to the block skill is outragous take it out or lower it to 20-10%

Oh and i never threatened to quit to make jeff do something! lol like that would ever work! in my opion if i put hours/years money and effort into a game then i'm intitled to vent my frustration why should i carry on bothering about a game that doesn't reward classes equaly??

This could be my hangover talking but doubtful lol i'm to tired to care anymore but i'm still to stubbon to quit nod entirely one less mouthy archer isn;t going to influence jeff but i'm not prepared to just go quietly into the night without having my say!

and if you don't like it deal with it ! the same as i have to with nod lol

But read my post though, i must be typing and seeing things that i am not thinking perhaps? i am asking for balance, 1/4 is about half of casters ( cnt) then the rest is about melee, dw, 2h and shield users.

I probably have brain damage or i am probably retarded, but i thought that i was doing that on all my posts and i also thought i did test a lot of things before, probably everything that the game has to offer, to the limit. except adventuring and crafting and non PvP related things ( since now there is a PvP related adventuring skill).

Ok. Dotters can be resisted, prevented, and reflected using gems. DDs can be resisted, mitigated, prevented, growled, blocked, deflected, and reflected using gems. As a tank I actually agree with this bit of balancing so far. My max resist is something like 80% and my max blocking is 50%. Now DDers get blocked a little less and DoTers won't destroy me quite as fast.

Love the patch except the Raze thing but ofc because i'm not a caster and instead i hate casters -because they can kill me ofc- .

IMO the best thing is the 3 min thing for arena <3 glitchless for tweaking that.

Here is what i dont get...
i spent more than 2 years building my toon as dual wielding slasher.... i have all skills in upper 90s (both attack and protection ones).... and i still suck comparing to casters half as young as i am (and with half of the skills as high as i have).... and now again..... casters are being helped.... and not every melee toon is using a shield....

So, should we all go casters? Or, should those that are not casters or tanks quit the game? (im kinda close to the second solution)

Chanzy, this update doesn't even affect you - since you are saying that you do not use a shield.

Glitchless played it pretty safe on this one imo.

Shield users still get to complain though.

I'm not complaining about anything. I just don't know if Glitch looked into the possible nerfing this does to the bow users that cast DoT gems. This gives shield users the ability to deflect nearly half of the arrows shot at them and now with the archers relying on just a single hit to trigger bladow, the shield users can completely remove all their dot damage every 2 minutes? Just take a look at it.

maybe to help counter that we could have access to hasten demise at the same 1% skill speed up as staff users? to speed up the dots proc?

As a shield user I'm not happy

Think about it this way: yes, DOT's can stack up and be unpleasant over a certain point in time. But if you cannot block a large percentage of purple flashies (i.e. regularly double hits for at least 2k) you're dead in about 4 seconds.

I discovered last night in the arena that my extremely expensive legendary shield was pretty much hopeless now. And that is before the new skills are maxed.

If we have to have this change, could we please have a buff to Deflective Shield when facing DD casts (only)?
