Default New FUN PK System?

How it would work:

Permadeath would no longer exist.

PKs would no longer receive 3x loot or exp, except for adventuring, learning, and social, which would receive a 1.5x bonus.

When a PK is PKKed or dies in PvE combat while flashing, the PK will lose all their items (except TCs). Their skills we be unaffected.



What this would mean:

-No more trophy market flooding

-Less risk for PKers

-Easier to rebuild a PK

-PKKs would benefit because more people would PK at all levels, since it would be purely for fun and wealth, and dying would not mean starting penniless at level 1.

i have a Q
how does... say a level 85 PK rebuild himself if he loses all items and gold?

or will this just be a case of buying several TC's for making gold?

I don't support the replacement of the current pk system and permadeath for this mickey mouse version.

However, the addition of this semi-pk system would be crazy fun for me personally. I have a higher level non-pk toon that I'd strip of gear except an uncommon weapon (s), transfer all weath to another toon, gulp an ac pot and open-range ravage the low and mid-levels. Get pkk'd, buy some new cheap stuff, rinse and repeat just living the last time for the 1.5x passives when I'm done for the day.

I suspect this would not be as much fun for those low and mid-level players and would probably be met in game and on these forums with hostility. I'm not sure that how this idea would play out in practice has been well thought out.

loans from friends, buying TCs, resourcing, bliss, etc.

maybe start off with 5k gold, or however much you had when you died if less than 5k.

Having been an active "real" PK back in the days before the system became PK-friendly (as it is now), I say no. Just no way.

The system is perfect as is, just wait for your balls to drop and quit posting lame ideas like this one. It says "Hardcore PVP", not "For the whole family".

The current system is neither hardcore nor perfect. The only real PKers around are Boog, Trojan, and Driiveby.

Everyone else just exploits the system by doing setup kills right after reboot so they can't be hunted.

i seen docens of pk messages a day. the fact that people do not choose to go pkk is a problem of the pkks, not of pks. if u feel is that safe to exploit it, then do it!!!

driiveby wasnt a real PK he just did setup kill after setup kill to appear to be doing a spree and as soon as he was really hunted he died

it took 3 months after i PKed on one of my characters before until anyone knew i was a PK cause i would PK the second after reboot when noone was on

I joined during Veng's last spree. Never saw Austen or Evilmdma in action.

I was referring to current, active, real PKs.

And Thatp, he did that as a message to Glitch and everyone- to show how exploitable the system is. He does do real PKing.

What Nod needs is active PK's who actually go through the motions, go on sprees, have a PK thread detailing their adventures, et cetera. People need to have something to strive for, the more active PK's there are, the more targets the PKK's have; creating a world of wonder and magic.

I do not agree. This would be kind of a step in the right direction, but it basically means that OP PKKers will just stay at the levels they are now, and PKers wont use any good items. PKKers will get bored killing all the really sucky PKers.

Pkers should have to pay like 50K to start PKing. If a PKK kills the PK they get 40K. (Numbers can be changed, but this would function as a cash sink and can be dependent on the level) PKers should get a small performance enhancement(something that would make them a better PKer, or we can keep extra trophies.) that raises the more they kill/the longer the spree. This enhancement should only be obtainable by being a PK. PKKers should get an enhancement for the PKKs they achieve, but they lose some when killed by a PK. The better the PK, the better enhancement bonus they receive. Both Pk/PKK enhancements will die off after a certain amount of time with no PKing.

This is just a rough idea from many of the ideas I have had to reform the PK system. There were some solid ideas on this thread, too.

i agree on cash sink and enchancements based on pk/pkk points (that get lowered if no pks/pkks occur) but i will disagree on taking the big risk and the 3x trophies.

IF you want to fix the PK system so that is isn't just used for trophies theres a few things you need to do.

1, Stop being jealous
2, Get OP
3, Kill some PK's

Another thing you could do is something like I'm sure people have mentioned, is like say your a level 67-70 PK like most of them are, make them have higher and higher PKK points needed to actually reap full bonus..

So you start at 3 but can drop to as low as 1.5 bonus if you don't actually keep increasing the amount of PK points you get weekly..

And your problem is solved, thank you.. And I'm sorry for all PK's who will hate me for it..

I mean it won't exactly fix the issue, however slowly over time they will either before forced to go on a killing spree, or level up past their current max level which would reset the timer..

You have to keep you mindset for the true player killer who does it to overskill and become powerful aswell. This gives incentives to redeem, and actually PK again later on..
