Default pls nerf everything op

people are so...small window. every season starts. and people complain about what is op. and asking people to nerf stuff cuz invincible.

i just want everyone to take a few and remember we have 3 different pvp formats.

D.I.F.F.E.R.E.N.T.

adjective
1.
not the same as another or each other; unlike in nature, form, or quality.
2.
distinct; separate.

you all ask for things to change the balance of stuff (no not aimed at drains thread).

like lakki today talked about the tiers of different builds that decides which are more/less op in this format. the key words there are in this format.

there are 2 more formats in the year with completely different "op" setups.
i know people are still gonna whine but at least try to stop asking for balance that will affect all 3 formats.

what is wrong with 1 thing being op 4 months out of a 12 month year. then another 4 months where that build can be mediocre. then possibly a final 4 months where said build is basically useless.

a nerf to something op in that situation turns it mediocre 4 months of year. useless 4 months of year. and beyond useless final 4 months of year.

on other hand a buff to something weak 4 months of year. can elevate it to op another 4 months of year. and broken op final 4 months. then we need nerfs again.

try to at least keep the full 3 formats in mind when asking for a buff or nerf.

Why are drains not OP in 3v3 premade?
Because Glitch made a 100% counter that enough people use for nobody to try draining.
Why are drains OP in solo queue?
Because not enough people have builds capable of running the only counter that does anything to drains.

Samurai (Bow) OP? Glish introduces a single pet/gem combo that 100% counters it (as well as heavily hurting BMs and Piercers and Dragon Talon Bow, and Sharp Steel/Slashers/Whip users to a lesser extent) and calls it a day.

I'm noticing a trend here.

For slow effects, use the slow % but as a negative.

Just repeat for multiple effects.

DO NOT multiply by 1+slow% to get your new delay. 1*1.4 is not the same as 1/0.6 and your answer will be wrong.

This was explained in civil, but the current "100%" counter to Samurai isn't nearly 100%, unless of course you think there was a 100% counter to stun in Aura of Supreme Stoicism in the previous season when they were still considered very OP. 100% when in use doesn't account for the reality that it is difficult to keep in play vs. a team doing what they can to prevent that.

People are dumb. Strong toons will do well in any format. Weak toons will do poorly in any format.

Whats strongest in this format?
Strong melee toons (tanks) with ability to do dps.
Strong doters.
Strong healers
Strong bms
etc etc etc

Know whats toons do poorly in this format?
Weak melee
Weak doters
Weak healer
Weak bms
Etc etc etc

If you are a strong toon you can do well in any format. Just how well will change but top 30 for strong toons is laughably easy. If you are a weak toon, you will struggle. This 3v3/anon format is very FRUSTRATING for many people because they: 1) dont know exactly who some middling toons are, and. 2) Weaker toons get much higher rating then "they deserve" (deserve being higher rating then they can achieve in the 1v1 and 3v3 premade formats)

The only issue imo is since we have multiple types of seasons, then we should have counters ( plz not 100% shut down hard counters) that different builds can take advantage of in different formats without being 100% reliant on team mates.

You Got Peanut butter in my Chocolate!.... You got Chocolate on my Peanut butter...!

That being said, countering a counter is always an option, and strong teams last 3v3 premade proved it was very easy to counter anti-stuns, by simply shattering, or quaking them. 30 second spam shatters, and quakes. Flood's could also be used to remove supreme/stoics, and well now toad gems also, but you rarely see anti-mez gems in play, so you could just run a quake to counter two (3 types of gems now) , Annuran Supplication, Supreme Stoics, and regular stoics.

I'm glad we're starting to see counters to everything now, but I do hope you will keep in mind that there isn't an effective counter to staff of shieldings OP proc, just like their isn't a strong counter to dealing with drain gems. but only the OP toons use drains, but you can get shut down pretty fast from drains and be useless.

How to be self-sufficient, and not get drained instead of having to rely on a healer to cast a gem on you with drainproof staff. hope to god that you have a prevent in play at that time, and/or your cuddlebugs proc prevent, or shatter their drain gem before they cast it, which can be hard.

LG Imperv, pets that reduce drains, weapons/gear that help with drains, a new skill that benefits dealing with drains even further. Idk, something lol. If you decide to make a counter to it, plz make a counter to staff of shielding proc too

Except the top teams somehow managed to somehow avoid having all their stuff shattered/quaked, and the lower teams just complained instead of doing stuff like adding stoics, or deft draw, or hogs/krisses/doublers to their options. Oh and some of the lower teams lied about trying counters and got caught lying.

Any non-staff user could've sacrificed a tiny bit of DPS to put on a Kris so they could redraw a stoic after a shatter. DCDD? Doesn't lose much. DcDoT? Loses a bit. (Kok) BM? Loses a significant amount, but also gets to not be stunned. Melee? If regener, potentially loses a portion of HP regen, but almost no DPS loss.

Any non-BM build could've easily swapped to Hogs, and even BMs could've done the same. Regeners would've suffered a bit from losing Timmies, but it was generally an option for most people.

If you wanna go ahead and balance the game around lazy people with no ability to adapt, fine.

Agreed that there should be more counters and that they shouldn't be 100% "your strategy which requires significant investment is now shut down by a single pet/weapon/armour/gem" counters.

I disagree with a skill to reduce drains. That's just a drain nerf. Make people have to make choices on what gear they run. Bear Hide was somewhat understandable, but I don't think we need more skills that are just nerfs. Adding a counter to staff of Shielding will be tough. It will either have to be a skill that affects more than just SoS or a weapon/pet/gem, in which case everyone will have to use SoS and everyone else will have to use that single option to counter it, which is boring.
Buff pallies.

Assuming Anular is one of those gems that puts an icon on you, you've got about 5-8 seconds after it gets shattered to redraw it. Let's say you're a fast-attacking DW melee so everyone on the other team targets your Anular(s). I'd probably start with 2 in play in this format, with 1 toad. 80% success rate on shatters means that with 3 people trying to shatter 2 gems, 10.4% of the time they will fail to shatter both. You've got better odds of keeping Anular up than you do of stunning the enemy with Smash.

I do admit a gem-based counter like Anular is better than an item that works no matter what your enemy does, like Degen arrow or Staff of Shielding, but it still is a 100% counter if the enemy is unable to constantly keep it out of play.

I'm just double-checking. I know that Sup Stoic doesn't do it for the stun/mes immune part and I don't expect Anuran to do it either, but I thought it might be different for the Toad special ability.
