Default A Possible 2H Piercer Minimal "Buff"

Regarding 2H piercers.... I know that the two main perks of using piercers are the minimal bloodlet damage and also somewhat "increased accuracy" compared to the other two melee weapon types.

Seeing as how crushers/slashers with Dice get a huge boost from gear and that there are no minimal damage increase pieces, they get a huge bonus to DPS from those pieces if they so choose. Piercers do not get that Option. Also, I think piercer accuracy should be raised a little, at least the curve so there is not much of a lower increase in accuracy with my insane dex to compete with crushers/slashers, but that is not for this thread.

I propose 2 minimal changes to 2 different skills to "buff" piercers:

1. Two-Handed. As 1H piercers got a bonus to this, I was thinking maybe there could be a bonus added that 2H piercers would get an added 100% chance to "connect" with their first hit on the skill. This would address the accuracy benefit to piercers.

2. Hemorrhage. Since the perk of piercers is the high minimal damage and also 1H piercers got a bonus through this skill, I think it would be neat to see a bonus added that gives 2H piercers 100% chance with this skill at max level to give a double bloodlet hit on the first hit. Or maybe even make it so it will double bloodlet on every hit at level 100? This would help keep up against crushers/slashers with demonskull gear.

I was just thinking of small things that piercers excell at and how to keep them interesting and in line with 2H having more bang with their buck compared to the 1H option.

Glitchless, or anyone else, have any objections or ideas about this? 2H piercer feedback would be appreciated.


ALSO, poisonbolt is easily countered with mitigation, it if worked for both 1H and 2H piercer through the ARMOR and MITIGATION that would increase some power for piercers, but useless in higher PVP....

You want piercers to get an Ambush, so to speak, then?
You are a little biased towards 2h, though.

What I don't agree with on your suggestion is:
- Don't you mean double bloodlet on the first bloodlet? Because guaranteeing a bloodlet without maxed Hemorrhage isn't fair.
- Why focus so much on first hits?

I think the ideal would be making Bloodlet scale with crits.
So if you crit for 2x damage, and happen to Bloodlet on the same attack, your Bloodlet deals 2x damage as well.

If it's 2.5x, then Bloodlet is 2.5x.
This would be alot more fair.

This would be alot more fair.
Nothing near as strong as an Ambush shot, but something to go with piercer accuracy would be nice. Also, since 1H piercers also get the 100% bonus, it kind of gets rid of one of the main reasons for going 2H. And no, I said what I meant, explaining these skills with the 100% chance at a level 100 with the same %s as skill level.

Also, I heard 2H pierce already has 100% chance to crit on opener which means a crblood let = 3x normal. Don't see the need to change that.

Piercers ARE behind a bit, but not by much.

The buffs suggested are a bit strong, because the first hits are what matters most in arena and farming.

I'd rather have the long-suggested "Let Bloodlets drain" option. Because it would be a small buff, because it wouldn't necessarily increase killspeed, so it wouldn't make others whine as much.

Oh, hey Krim! Pretty close to max skills over here. Just stopped by to say that they don't make up the difference.
Regular attacks are 120-250 with 85 bloodlets.
Crits top out MAYBE 550 with a 169 bloodlet.
I suppose a benefit of piercers is supposed to be pvp where we can ignore armor class on hit.
This doesn't actually balance out as I swing so often that against most tanks this just means I'm proccing their armor more often.
My dps is steady in pve, not good by any means as a 2 hander always has faster kills, even without a legendary. I suppose the idea is that I can supplement my build with dd gems. There are no gems that fit the criteria I would need to make them more efficient at dps than using melee haste and sharpened steel instead. The best option would be blue dd gems, however there is no skill that increases damage for blue without a staff. Without epic gems I can put out 210-400 damage on a gem cast depending on my int. This is obviously a very small amount considering the amount of resources each cast uses and the time between gem draws.
While the idea of a hybrid build is good, the actual application is lacking because thus far, every pure build is far better.

Sorry hood my phone keyboard was messed up. Anywho, 2H piercers are 2H. This means your first attack is a guaranteed crit. Also, as 2H weapons, they have a 100% chance to bloodlet. Also because they are 2H, crits will deal 3x more than a normal hit, including the bloodlet.

Because of this, I think a 2H piercer does not need any buffs to the opening hit.

Did you read up top when I gave some info comparing piercer to slash/crush? With the gear and runes (spike rune is trash) slashing and crushing get a HUGE damage bonus to their dps... this would help compensate. Also, the first hit is not a crit if it MISSES >_<

Oh well.
Then I believe this thread would be an unnecessary buff to Piercers.
You already get a big nearly guaranteed crit with guaranteed Bloodlet on first strike.
You want it twice?

Yes, but I would like something to compensate the piercer's strengths to keep up with slashers/piercers because they have a little bit of advantage via gear which piercers do not have. Hell, give them to 1H piercers also, make piercer a weapon choice instead of everyone going 2H crusher weighted steel easy mode.

With my 849 dex, I STILL miss first hits in N LAKE... should that actually happen enough for me to notice it? I do not believe so, but whatever.

Also pierce is all about min damage and consistency, so don't complain that you can't hit as hard as Slash and Crush.
