Default Reclaim our Land

For years the so called heros of nodiatis have done nothing but fill their coffers with loot.

It is time we band together and reclaim the towns taken by orcs.



This would be available to each clan and would allow more of an overhead view mini map of each town. The defenders would consist of those in the general zone but heroic along with perhaps a couple random elites specific to no zone.

Basically,

You begin to raid the town with your clan where you would group with 3.
so,

1 person controls movement of the group but any and all in the clan can participate in an attempt to claim the town, mobs could also group and move together in an attempt to overwhelm the raiding parties.

Essentially having multiple groups of 3 in the same general area would allow for a surprise attack where the foe may be stunned for a few seconds or even surround the enemy causing its defensive stats to be reduced by 15%

this would give way for more skills and increased activity for clans.

each town can have a 'highscore' where the top clan would benefit from a 5% gold boost for 24 hrs or something

also your clan would have to band together to prevent the community from being reclaimed.

this may allow room for alliances and also espionage. If you happen to be in a township when a clan is attempting to reclaim or defend a town you have the possibility to join ranks and become spy w/o notice to the other clan which can see certain clan chats dependant on a supporting skill/s along with counter measures ofc.


This could be a new way for the Beasts to appear or weapons to present themselves when a clan has to defend against an ungodly creature that has ascended from the shallows of the rocklands, meet the razor clawed monkeys mother, the bodkin gorrila.

I'd actually support the "1 person moves, everybody follows" if it didn't conflict so much with:
- Escape
- Townwalking made easy
- Botting made easy-ish

Great idea, just remember to implement it only when trying to raid a town.

Also, having the mobs being of the level around the town makes this much less attractive to most players. Have the mobs follow the level of the highest toon in town. (they might only FIGHT outside town normally, but they'd still follow you around after you've killed a few thousand of their brethren)

I like the basic concept of fighting the orcs and then having to hold the town to stop the orcs from reclaiming it.

this would be in fact only available towards raids and since we start in t1 i would think it would only make sense they get more difficult as you progress....and the longer you hold a town the defense becomes increasingly difficult...this again depends on which towns you hold since mobs from pit would have to go thru t4 before hitting t2 essentially. And we are attempting to defend or regain control so escape to fight another day would be dependant on a select few involved in this which they would either use a rally horn to regroup or a retreat in an attempt to cover individuals while they fell back and possibly escaped or had their route blocked and must attempt to fight their way or find another.

I still like this idea but I think it would be better suited to a 3D game like dawn where you can actually build defenses and fight multiple enemies. Too bad that's on the horizon.

it wouldn't be too terrible to add a mini map and turn it into a rts and it would bring a world to the motionless surroundings we have now.

a specific game that comes to mind is 'Disciples of steel' which had a combat over view and a 1st person dungeon aspect.

combat would be the same but you could move around in this map and while in combat other forces could potentially over run you.

The biggest issue with this would be adjusting the layout to still incorporate gems and such but also allow those groups of 3 and the others involved to create a wall to protect the ranged units firing from behind.

looting would be at the end of a successful raid or defense where the gold would then go to RP and any drops would be divided as equally as possible based on contribution

Still, combining RWK "Rune Defense" and "Wall Upkeep" with this sounds nice and would add much competitive play.

Once the town is under control, the original "invaders" would become part of the populace, helping people defend against other clans that would dare to come across their turf.

Make the town have a vault of some sort where people could pay gold and have it gain interest each day the town is kept, added as RP/Terr/Dom for the owning clan.

I'm suggesting RWK-like mechanics because RWK is even less demanding than Nod's 2D (it's text only), and this was one of the two (read: a huge TWO) concepts the game was based around, yet it did make for a fine, popular game

I'm also suggesting this because
1. the system already exists, so it makes it less endearing to craft
2. because it is text-only, it doesn't require much graphics to implement,
3. because it was fun,
4. because conquering one town and then sending its paid-for armies to attack other towns and loot them sounds rather nice,
5. because it promotes rivalry without "true" PvP that Glitch doesn't seem to want to really bother with.

Very well written Conc,
I fully support this whole concept. Need more things to do and accomplish in nod, arena and grinding are about all most of us do, not all, but most.
