Thanks for posting this guide.. I was curious about how to make trophies.

This might be one tradeskill I do pick up since it doesn't seem to involve every other tradeskill to work.

Most of this guide isn't accurate because it's not based on the type of resin. It's based on the value of resins.

And higher value resins do not give out a higher amount of exp per gold.
There are ways to add nominal amounts of exp to the final product but it's not worth the trouble.
You will get all kinds of trophies of different type and different amount per trophy every time you enchant a resin but the total amount of exp will be the same. Also, the % that you might get a stack of spirit or combat trophies is dependent on the % of trophy combinations that are used to make the final product total of experience that are spirit, compared to those that are combat.

I'm just correcting the main post.

Call me selfish but I'd rather keep secrets of the trade to myself.

Is the enchanting skill needed to make higher level trophies? I just tried it out in T1 and it seems I can make trophies with 0 skill so far (no skillups either).

I just spent 10k for this, so this info better be worth it:

Heaven Harbor Resin-T4-2500 gold-4 resins=24 mining caps(which equals to 300k exp, and the cost is 10k gold.....so i'm thinking it's 30 gold per 1k exp for that one)

Ok people really need to start working this out correctly lol, 10k/300k = 33.33g/1k exp.

I've had lots of players tell me that they have discovered a way to only spend 30g/1k exp, or 29.xxg/1k exp. But really they're just calculating it at 30exp/1k gold, which is the same as 33.33g/1k exp but put differently. Moreover, some resins give you less than the normal ratio, but never more (some in t3 and in t4) - to figure out how much exp you'll get from a resin just multiply the total resin value by 30.

I don't know what town these would be found in as I dismantled a shield and got this but...

Galatia Blood Resin - 140g - 1 = 4 Anteater Nose (1050)

They are combat trophies too, just fyi. And if it matters, it was a Blocking(8) shield.

Edit: This resin is in T3.

Ok, in T2, purchasing one Tethered resin, cost 55g. That turns into 1 fungal feather, worth 1650xp. 55g/1650xp = .0333g for 1xp, or 33.3g for 1000xp

Its about finding the approx cost per 1k exp per resin.

Cause no matter what the resin is going to be approx 33.3g per 1k exp it produces. Once you find out the target range, use the resin to make in that range.

Here's something to put the trophy sellers out of business

Dark Ork resins in Fenelia cost 375 gold and therefore give 30 x 375 exp. Since the monsters on the skeleton coast all give combat trophies and all are level 36 (3750 exp trophies) that means each dark ork resin will produce 3 x 3750 combat trophies almost every time (5/6 of the possible types I've seen are combat).

Spot on. Each Dark Ork resin produces 3 trophies at 3,750 each (such as a Fossil Claw or a Snow Crab Shellspike). 11,250 exp (combat) for 375 gold.

Stronhad

15 x Gloopy resins = Seahorse Siren or Seahorse Whipping Tail (both 3150 Combat xp) at 33.33 g per 1k xp.

Also produces:

3 x mossy coats (3 x 1050xp = 3150 spirit xp)
3 x anteater noses (3 x 1050xp = 3150 combat xp)
1 White Bird crown (3150 spirit xp)

My guess also is that there is no just combat or just spirit xp resins. At least with gloopy resin it is so, you can make both types with it (randomly chosen too).

Btw for higher chance of spirits, I would go with 15 or 30 tethered resins. You have a 4/6 (2/3) chance of getting spirits (probably more possibilities but can't think of atm). The level 26 creatures and the level 15 creatures on the island of dreval drop those (I know sandfunnels are also level 15 but I've never had their trophies when using more than 5 tethered at once for some reason :s).

Default Glop Resin x18 = 3750 Combat XP

Glop Resin x18 = 3750 Combat XP

Glop is in T2

It produces a combat trophy worth 3750 XP 3/4 of the time.

Combat:
Snow Crab Shell Spike
Snow Crab Claw
Fossil Claw

or

Spirit:
Icey Ribcage

6 torn resin from t4 yields 91 13,400xp trophies random between spirit and combat. I can't remember what they were called though.

I also produced 103 12,800xp ball lightning trophies using 4 venimous Resins (11,000gold). I don't know where to get the resin though. I broke down 3 epic gems to get them.

Pretty sure the Venomous Resins can be purchased at T5.

Check the general store next time you're around there.
