Little help

I'm not sure if this belongs in newbie help, or in bugs/ exploits, but here is the problem. I have 2 chars, on I'm playing as a hybrid/ archer i suppose. The other one I'm going vamp. My hybrid, who is at level 1, has no problems. The other char, just started out, is not gaining gold from his kills. I've tried the first few monsters, and the result is still the same. Have I done something wrong, or....?

99% and the weird thing is, I'm getting gold now, but I move a few sections over (same king and tax rate) and I don't get any. I must be missing something.

A tax rate of 99% means that you will only get 1% of the maximum gold you should be getting. You probably weren't getting any gold before because 1% of 5 gold is not enough to warrant a rounding up to 1 gold piece. My guess is that you are now killing monsters that would normally give you enough gold so that 1% is enough to actually give you some gold. Regardless, moving into a kingdom that has 0% tax will get you way more gold.
